What We Do

On a monthly basis, the Medway Lions Club collects redeemable bottles and cans from the community, either curbside or from donations dropped off at the Lions Bottles and Cans shed in front of West Medway Liquors on Main Street. The proceeds from these drives are used exclusively for community efforts in Medway. Curbside pickup for Medway residents starts at 9 am on the morning of the drive. Redeemable donations may be made at any time at the Lions Bottles and Cans shed at West Medway Liquors.

For questions or a missed pick-up please call 508-589-2038.

Christmas Tree Sale -  November 27, 2021

On a weekend when most are enjoying college football with a sandwich made from leftover Thanksgiving turkey, our club will be unloading Christmas Trees at the Route 109 Mall next to the Shell Gas Station in Medway. Christmas Trees and wreaths are sold soon after Thanksgiving and into December until we sell it all!  Check back in November for dates and times.

Annual Pancake Breakfast - April 2, 2023 (8 AM to 12 Noon)

One of the more enjoyable fundraising efforts is our annual "All You Can Eat" Pancake Breakfast at the Medway High School cafeteria. Hundreds of our friends, family, neighbors in Medway and surrounding communities as well as Lions from around the district join us for a sumptuous breakfast, which boasts a menu of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and "Joe's famous quiche." Photographs with the Easter Bunny, a coloring contest for the kids and raffle prizes round out an enjoyable time for all! Admission prices: $9 for Adults and $6 for Senior Citizens and Children under 10, payable at the door. Come join us!

We appreciate the many people in the community who volunteer their time to ensure that the event is a success, the many local businesses who purchase advertising featured on the placemats at the Breakfast, as well as those businesses who donate their services and goods for the event.

The Medway Lions Club raises money for charitable and volunteer efforts in Medway and surrounding communities through our year-round fundraisers listed below.  We also raise money at the local, state, national and even international level to assist in for eye research.  Please click on Who We Help to view a comprehensive list.  When we aren't raising money, we are involved in service projects throughout the year such as The Sunshine Group Walk-a-thon and Senior Citizens Barbecue.  We proudly sponsor the Medway Leos Club as well as locally held concerts.  We collect donated eyeglasses and hearing aids via the drop box at the Medway CVS on Route 109.

We truly appreciate the donations of either money, eyeglasses/hearing aids and/or time that we receive from the community and local businesses in support of our community service and charitable efforts.  WE COULDN'T DO WHAT WE DO WITHOUT YOU!

Bottle & Can Drive

MEDWAY LIONS MONTHLY BOTTLE & CAN DRIVE SCHEDULE

Medway curbside pick up starts at 9 am - drop off anytime at the shed located West Medway Liquors

A BIG THANK YOU goes to West Medway Liquors for their assistance!

Each March, images spring to mind, of girls in pretty dresses and bows, dancing on their father’s shoes as their fathers twirl them around with twinkles in their eyes and smiles on their faces, because March is the time of year for The Annual Fathers and Daughters Dance, proudly sponsored by the Medway Lions Club.

Girls ages 3 and older are invited to bring their date – dad, uncle, grandfather, etc. – to the event. The dance is open to all in Medway and surrounding communities and will take place at the Medway High School cafeteria. Admission is payable at the door. Photographs are taken to commemorate the event, which typically includes games and light refreshments. It's a fun time for all. Admission $7.00 per/person.
